Don't Damage Your Kitchen Sink With Poor Cleaning

The kitchen sink should be one of the cleanest surfaces in our home. Unfortunately, quite often, the kitchen sink is full of germs.

Just rinsing the kitchen sink until it looks clean is not going to kill all the germs. The material of your sink needs different types of cleaning. That's too much to talk about in this article, but they can all benefit from a simple cleaning method keeps germs away!

You have three options to clean your sink:

  1. Buy a sink disinfectant and read the instructions on the label. Commercial disinfectants are almost anywhere, supermarks and even online.
  2. For ceramic and cast iron sinks, prepare one part liquid chlorine bleach to 16 parts H2O. DO NOT use this on stainless steel sinks. Be very careful when using a solution that uses bleach; Pour slowly and don't get any on your delicate surfaces
  3. Make undiluted white vinegar for the sink and wipe on the vinegar using a cloth make sure that the entire sink covered.

Stainless Steel Sinks

Stainless steel sinks should be rinsed at least every day to keep them clean and prevent pitting. Acids damage the finish of your stainless steel sink, so please avoid leaving acidic foods in the sink. Simply use soap with a sponge for your cleaning of a the stainless steel sink. You can use all purpose cleaners as well.

If spots are a problem, use vinegar can help to remove them. To keep the finish of the sink at its finest, DO NOT use:

  • bleach
  • ammonia
  • abrasive cleaners

Steel wool damages the finish on the sink. Wet and spread baking soda onto the sink’s surface is the best way to take care of stains. Use a nylon sponge to work the baking soda and rinse the sink cleanly.

To deal with mineral residue, cover your kitchen sink with paper towels soaked in white vinegar. Give the vinegar time to for a half hour, and rub clean.
