Earlier, we've had an article about stainless steel kitchen sink cleaning, but we're going to look at what we should AVOID this time (in case we have readers who haven't seen our previous articles!) Be careful you're cleaning your sink correctly, else you can irreversibly damage it and ruin the look of your kitchen sink! Follow these simple tips below, and you'll be ensured a great looking kitchen sink for a long time:
Avoid Damaging Acids
Rinse your stainless steel kitchen sinks after ever use to avoid pitting, because the acid can potentially damage the finish of your sink. Be careful not to leave those kinds of foods in the sink!
Avoid Bleach and Abrasives for Spots
Vinegar and baking soda are amazing for cleaning kitchen sinks! Soak a cloth in vinegar and get those spots off! Avoid using bleach or abrasives, because they'll easily ruin your finish.
Afterwards, put baking soda over your sink and use a sponge to get everything clean.
Wash along with the grain
When you're cleaning your kitchen sink, follow the grain of the sink. This will ensure the light catches the kitchen sink at the correct angles and keep it shiny. If you have a lot of cross-grain washing, it'll quickly dull the finish.
